Cincinnati - 3

Time has gone quickly. We have stayed 3 nights here already. We really love Cincinnati and will be sad to leave. It has been easy getting around here using the shuttle bus. We have again met many nice people who are willing to strike up a conversation. It is always great talking with the locals.
On our last night we walked a short distance from our hotel and discovered a lovely little area full of restaurants that we hadn't realised was there. We ate at the Cock and Bull English Pub and had good old fish and chips. The pub is quite unique in that it has tables over the road and waiters have to cross the road to serve the food. Apparently they haven't lost a waiter yet.

We had our first encounter with Skyline chilli here in Cincinnati. Apparently they have a secret chilli recipe for which they have earned awards. As you can see by the photo eating chilli can be a bit messy. They provide all "newbies" with a bib. Just as well really!!!

We love the achitecture here. They are hundreds of quaint little houses and historic buildings. We have spent hours just looking around the streets.

And another thing we have noted is the cars here, and all over America. One moment you will see a big flashy ones and the next thing you see is the ultimate rust bucket. Some we have seen should surely not be on the road. It is hard knowing what colour they once were....all you can see is rust. And Mike noticed today that the motorbike riders don't wear helmets. Not sure what the law is here but very few people we have seen are wearing them.
Last night here. Invested in a bottle of Kahlua (for the road). How could I resist. It only cost $15 for a 750ml bottle. We had a couple of drinks by the pool, the water was so warm (well it would have to be to get me in there!!!). And I could check out facebook at the same time. How good is that.
The sunset for the last two nights has been unusual. The sun looks just like a huge orange ball as it sinks into the horizon. Hard to describe and the photo below sort of shows it but does not do it justice.

Heading to Columbus tomorrow
