We are off......

We are at the airport waiting to board the plane to Sydney. Mike is so excited he can't get the grin off his face.

And me, well I can't wait till we are safely on the ground in LA........

Ready to go

Not long now. All packed. I am surprised how much I managed to get in my backpack. I even have room left which means shopping is on the menu at the first opportunity!!

Seats are booked - Aisle seats for a quick getaway!. Leaving Adelaide at 9.30 tomorrow morning for Sydney. Not much time between flights so I hope we get away on time. Fly out of Sydney around 1pm and arrive in Los Angeles at 9.30 am.

Wow, a whole day travel and we get there on the same day and at the same time we leave Adelaide. Its almost like travelling in the Tardis.

An early rise

Its 4am and I am up ready for some brisk exercise to start the day..........well not exactly!!! A run does not seem very appealing right now but I may manage a walk with Lacey and Tigger in a couple of hours.

So you ask, what would I be doing up at this hour when I am on holidays? Good question. All I can say is SLEEP IS NOT HAPPENING. Not sure if it is the excitement building or something to do with far too much to eat at SPICE & ICE last night. Anyway, I am wide awake and ready to get the last minute jobs done. Coffee is good.......just about ready for a second cup!!

Just waiting for the "packing police" to leave for work then I can focus on cramming as much as possible into the backpack. Not sure if I like this "minimal clothes policy". How much room can another pair of undies take up anyway? Well maybe I can reduce this pile of clothes a bit.......

Or maybe I can sneak some into his pack........

Some Minor Packing Issues

Well, the arguments have just started!
Chris has finished work almost a week before we go, on account of the fact that she needs to decide what goes into her 20 litre pack. Now I’m not say that I didn’t start it but really... how much time do you need to decide on 2 tops, some trousers and a pair of sneakers.

Anyway, I decided to sort of put it to her in the subtlest manner I could (knowing that females can be a bit sensitive about these things). So with all the tact and empathy I could muster I sort of said to her: “What’s with you and all that junk!” Don’t know how much more helpful I could have been, I mean I was really looking forward to us sharing the packing. I thought this is a good time to bond. She’s got a ton of room in that thing and can carry my boogie board – that’d give her a sense of purpose I thought. Yeah, yeah I know what you’re thinking, but the boogie board is clean.
Well I really wasn’t prepared for the response – an now she’s in the lounge and I’m in the kitchen and that looks to be the way it’s going to be until she realises her mistake. Not sure how big a A380 is but it might not be big enough for both of us. Anyway if things improve I’ll let ya know.
