HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKE
Off to the Grand Canyon.
Off to the Grand Canyon. Small tour bus, arranged by the hostel. Only 5 of us on board.
Our tour guide Chad was really nice and very knowledgable and passionate about the Canyon.
The tour took us to several of the best spots for viewing the canyon and well.....what can I say.....It was AWESOME.
It did remind us a bit of the Flinders Ranges but much, much bigger.
Mike would have loved to do some hiking. We climbed down part of a trail for around 2km. That was quite enough for me, particulary in the hot sun. I am content to view it from the top.
In the picture below you can just see a patch of white just to the right of Mike's head. That is the mighty Colorado River at the bottom of the canyon.

Tour guide CHAD!!! I wondered where Chad Cornes had disappeared to since he was not playing AFL at the moment!
ReplyDeleteAlso you were in flagstaff the same time as 5 Collingwood players who are there recuperating from their injuries due to the high altitude - pity you couldn't have had "chad" run them over - SB

Happy Birthday Mike! Looks nice and warm there. Youre missing a great winter Chris cos I know you love running on these cold days. Brrr.
