From Mike
And I must say that as we drift north we are both a bit sad to leave the South. The people here are so friendly and they really do speak with that folksy drawl you hear on TV. I’m not sure how many times we’ve been greeted with “how ya all doin today?” And when they ask that they wait to hear your answer – they’re really interested.

From Chris
Not one of our most enjoyable bus journeys. All the arriving busses seemed to be running late which made all the departing buses late too. We left 45 minutes behind schedule.
The trip was only supposed to take 3 hours but roadworks meant it took us over an hour to get 20 miles at one point. And we were not the only ones bored by the slow trip. One girl driving a car had a book propped up on her steering wheel and was catching up on her reading as she drove.

We didn’t reach Louisville till after 8pm. Staying at the Brown Hotel. Lovely old building, beautiful inside.
As it was late we grabbed a pizza and brought it back to the room. After the pizza we wandered down to the bar and spent a couple of hours chatting with some people and drinking wine. Late night so just as well we are leaving on the late bus tomorrow.
Wednesday morning
We decided to take the late bus to Cincinnati. We arranged a late checkout from the hotel so we could look around Louisville. The hotel stored our backpacks for the day. Firstly we visited the post office and mailed home our excess weight (souveniers and items we are not using). Amazing what difference a few kgs makes to the backpacks.
